May 9 case, PTI founder Imran Khan appeals to Supreme Court of pakistan.
Imran Khan challenged the decision to cancel bail in the May 9 case in the Supreme Court. The PTI founder challenged the decision of the Lahore High Court in the Supreme Court.
In the petition filed in the Supreme Court of pakistan, it was requested to declare the decision of the Lahore High Court null and void, it was said that the allegation of aiding and abetting in the May 9 incidents is baseless, other accused have been granted bail, the PTI founder is entitled to bail.
The petition took the position that there is a lack of evidence in the cases, it is impossible for Imran Khan to be involved in the crime due to his being in NAB custody, the contradictory statements of the prosecution make the case suspicious, further investigation is needed in the cases.
The petition further said that the police avoided arrest for 5 months, which shows malice, the police’s delayed statements are unreliable, and the evidence against the PTI founder is insufficient.
It should be recalled that the Lahore High Court had rejected the bail applications of PTI founding chairman Imran Khan.
