Islamabad – A new case of monkeypox has been reported in Pakistan. Out of two patients who arrived from Gulf countries, one has been confirmed positive for monkeypox.

According to private TV channel Samaa News sources, a resident of Attock who returned from a Gulf country to Islamabad has been diagnosed with monkeypox. The patient arrived in Islamabad on Friday and, after showing symptoms, was first taken to PIMS Hospital and later shifted to THQ Hospital Hazro.

The National Institute of Health confirmed yesterday that the patient was infected with monkeypox. According to sources, the test report of the second patient who came from a Gulf country came out negative.
