Chenab water flow at Head Khanki and Head Qadirabad in the Chenab River has started decreasing, but the situation is still dangerous.

Water flow at Head Khanki has decreased from 1.5 million cusecs to 9 million 5 thousand cusecs, while at Head Qadirabad there is also an unusual flood, and the water flow has reached 1 million 45 thousand 601 cusecs.

Meanwhile, at Ganda Singh Wala on the Sutlej River, the water flow is more than 2 lakh 61 thousand cusecs, and an unusual flood is being recorded. There is a high level of flood at Head Marala, where the water flow is 2 lakh 40 thousand cusecs, while there are medium-level floods at Baloki in the Ravi River and Sulaimanki in the Sutlej.

In addition, the intensity of the flow is likely to continue in the River Chenab between Head Khanki and Qadirabad in the next 12 to 14 hours.

On the other hand, in a media briefing, Chairman NDMA Lieutenant General Inam Haider said that 210,000 people were shifted to safe places from the flood-affected areas of Punjab, in which the Pakistan Army, Rangers, Rescue 1122, and PDMA Punjab participated.

He said that there is a need to shift the populations near the Sutlej River to safe places in the coming days. On the instructions of the field marshal, all the relevant formations are busy in relief activities in collaboration with other institutions.

It should be noted that the new spell of monsoon rains will continue from August 29 to September 9. In the recent monsoon, 804 people died across the country, and more than 1,000 were injured.
