The Competition Commission has called on the citizens to present evidence and complaints. Misleading advertisement is practiced in many housing societies using Islamabad name. There are false claims of NOC and CDA affiliation. Manipulation of fake photographs, video in development work advertisements is disclosed. False claims are committed regarding electricity, gas, water and other facilities.
Advertisements are done using celebrities and sportspersons in misleading marketing. There are some hidden fees charged under the guise of development charger. False profit expectations on projects under construction There are complaints. It is in particular the overseas Pakistanis who get deceived into investment. False advertising is an infraction in Competition Act. False marketing may incur a fine to the tune of up to 75 million dollars.
