Air activities at Sialkot Airport will remain limited throughout the day today, as floodwater has started entering the vicinity of the airport after heavy rains.

According to the administration, flight operations will be closed from 10 am to 10 pm to avoid any emergency situation.

According to media reports, aviation authorities have issued an official notification of the suspension of flights. It is being said that the flood relay from the south tried to surround the airport, after which machinery and staff were immediately mobilized.

The administration says that dewatering pumps are working continuously to drain the water so that the runway and other sensitive areas are not damaged.

Officials say that the terminal building, parking lot, and a large part of the runway are safe, and all equipment installed at the airport is not at risk. The situation is being monitored continuously, and it is hoped that operations will return to normal after 10 pm.
