
Peshawar: The power system has been badly affected by the floods in KP.
According to power officials, 292 transformers were affected by the floods in Swat, Shangla, and Buner, while 49 feeders in the three districts were damaged by the floods.
According to the report, electricity has been restored to 212,000 consumers, but 87,000 consumers are still without electricity. The report states that 33 feeders have been fully restored in Peshawar and 9 partially restored, while 7 are still damaged. 299,000 consumers are affected by the Peshawar feeder failure.
In addition, 63 percent of consumers in Swat, 56 percent in Shangla, and 46 percent in Buner are without electricity. 10 technical teams and 87 field personnel are engaged in the restoration work; 481 poles and 55 feeders are being repaired, while electricity has been restored to major hospitals in Buner and Swat.
According to the report, PESCO suffered a loss of Rs. 164.277 million due to the floods, of which Rs. 53.646 million was lost in Swat alone.
