Heavy rains likely from tomorrow to August 10, flood warning, National Emergency Operation Center (NEOC) has issued a report on the possible weather conditions for the coming week.

According to the report of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), there is a possibility of flood situation due to heavy rains in the upper and central areas of the country from August 5 to 10.

There is a possibility of medium to high level of flooding in the areas of Marala, Khanki and Qadirabad on the Chenab River, medium to high level of flooding in the upper areas of Mangla on the Jhelum River. In addition, there is a possibility of high flow in the Kabul River at Nowshera and there is a possibility of flooding in the rivers of Swat and Panjkora.

According to the report, the flow at Tarbela, Kalabagh, Chashma, Taunsa and Guddu barrages is likely to reach medium levels in the coming days. In Gilgit-Baltistan, the flow of Hunza and Shigar rivers is likely to increase, while flooding is expected in the rivers of Haspar, Khunjerab, Shamshal, Baraldo, Hoshe and Saltoro.

Flooding is likely in the rivers of Musakhel, Sherani, Zhob and Sibi in Balochistan. As a result of monsoon rains, Tarbela Dam is 90 percent full and Mangla Dam is 60 percent full.
