Devastating Floods

Islamabad Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi received a telephone call from his Iranian counterpart, Skandar Momeni. The Iranian Interior Minister expressed grief and condolences over the loss of precious lives in Pakistan, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit, due to torrential rains and floods. The Iranian Interior Minister conveyed heartfelt sympathy to the families of those who lost their lives and prayed for their patience and strength.

The Iranian Interior Minister offered support to Mohsin Naqvi for assistance to the flood victims.

“Pakistan is our brotherly neighboring country. We are ready to extend every kind of help in this time of trial,” said the Iranian Interior Minister.

“We are deeply saddened to see the devastation caused by floods in Pakistan. Hundreds of people have been separated from their loved ones. We stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Pakistan,” said the Iranian Interior Minister.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi thanked his Iranian counterpart for the offer of assistance and solidarity with the flood victims.

“Iran and Pakistan share both joys and sorrows,” said Mohsin Naqvi.

“Climate change is becoming a precursor of catastrophic destruction in Pakistan. For the first time in history, Pakistan is facing such a dangerous climate situation,” said Mohsin Naqvi.

“All institutions are in the field to assist the flood victims, and the rehabilitation and relief of the affected people is our top priority,” said Mohsin Naqvi.
