Despite the protest call of founder PTI Imran Khan, a big demonstration could not be held outside Adiala Jail, the family could not meet Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, Aleema Khan, Dr. Uzma and Noreen Niazi could not go beyond the Chakri Interchange, only one senator, 2 MNAs reached near Adiala Jail.
According to Express News, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf could not hold a big show in Rawalpindi on August 5, the party leaders’ call to demonstrate near Adiala Jail proved to be in vain, only Senator Humayun Mohmand, MNA Maulana Naseem Ali Shah, MNA Sajid Khan Mohmand reached the Adiala Road Dahgal checkpoint, where the police stopped them from going further.
Out of the 6 leaders to meet the founder PTI, only the spokesperson of the founder Niazullah Niazi reached the jail gate 5, but the police instructed them to go further immediately. The three sisters of the founder PTI reached the Chakri Interchange on the Motorway for the meeting, where a heavy contingent of Rawalpindi police stopped them from going towards Adiala Jail.
When lawyers Shamsa Kayani and Owais Younis reached the Gorakhpur checkpoint on Adiala Road, the police stopped them from going further, while party secretaries Salman Akram Raja, Latif Khosa and Mahmood Khan Achakzai were not allowed to go beyond the checkpoint in a private housing society near Adiala Road.
A few women workers of the party gathered at Dahgal checkpoint and raised slogans, PTI could not hold any big show near Rawalpindi and Adiala Jail, the local leadership and workers remained absent for fear of arrests.
