
Islamabad Noor Muqaddam murder case convict Zahir Jafar has been declared psychologically healthy and said that no neurological weakness or defect was identified.
The psychological examination report of Noor Muqaddam murder case convict Zahir Jafar has been sent to the Ministry of National Health. Zahir Jafar’s psychological and neurological examination is normal, the convict was examined by a two-member medical board of PIMS on July 21, the medical examination was done on the request of the Superintendent Adiala Jail. PIMS psychiatrist and neurologist conducted a detailed examination of the convict Zahir and said that he was found to be mentally and psychologically completely healthy and temperamentally normal. No neurological weakness or defect was identified in the convict Zahir, he was found to be fully conscious, present mind, aware of the situation.
His brain was completely intact and there was no evidence of mental illness or mental disorder. Zahir Jafar’s family is considering filing a presidential mercy petition. In 2023, the trial court sentenced Zahir Jafar to death.
The Islamabad High Court had upheld the death sentence of the convict. Later, the Supreme Court upheld Zahir’s death sentence from the lower courts. It may be recalled that in July 2021, the body of Noor Muqaddam was found in Zahir Jafar’s house, who had been brutally murdered.
