
The Meteorological Department has predicted a new spell of monsoon to start across the country from tomorrow, with the possibility of flooding in rivers and low-lying areas in cities due to rains.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain in Islamabad as well as in various cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab from July 28 to 31.
There is a possibility of an unusual increase in water in the Chenab and Jhelum rivers from tomorrow to July 31.
There will be rain in Balochistan from July 29 to 31, while in Sindh from July 30 to 31, during which some areas may also experience stormy rains. Due to the rains, there is a possibility of flooding in local rivers and canals, low-lying areas in various cities are under water, while landslides are expected in the upper areas.
On the other hand, in Hafizabad Sukhiki, rainwater could not be drained from several villages even after 10 days of Monsoon Pakistan, residents are facing difficulties due to non-restoration of land connectivity.
Meanwhile, the water level in the Indus River has started rising at the Guddu Barrage in Kashmore, the water level is also fluctuating at the Taunsa Barrage, 70 villages in Layyah have been submerged by the water of the Indus River, rescue and relief operations are underway by the administration.
In addition, the water level in Rawal Dam was recorded at 1,750 feet, spillways were opened when the water level in the dam rose.
