US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has appreciated Pakistan’s role in promoting stability in the region and playing a mediating role in dialogue with Iran.
The US has appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in the Iran issue. The US State Department has issued an official statement after the meeting between Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
According to the statement, Secretary of State Marco Rubio commended Pakistan’s efforts in promoting stability in the region and mediating in dialogue with Iran.
The State Department says that Pakistan’s mediation in reconciliation and dialogue with Iran is an important step forward, and it has helped promote peace in the region.
It was further reported that in the meeting between Ishaq Dar and Marco Rubio, the issue of enhancing bilateral cooperation in counter-terrorism, especially a joint strategy against ISIS Khorasan, was discussed. In this regard, Pak-US counter-terrorism talks have also been scheduled in Islamabad in August.
During the meeting, the importance of promoting trade relations between the two countries was emphasized, while the possibilities of cooperation in the minerals and mining sector were also discussed.
On the other hand, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued his statement on the social networking site SiteX after meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. He said that the US Secretary of State met with Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar. The meeting discussed expanding bilateral trade.
He further said that the possibilities of increasing cooperation in the minerals sector were discussed, and he thanked Pakistan for its role in promoting partnership against terrorism and regional stability.
